OMI, derived from the Yoruba word for “water,” captures the fluidity and quiet power of the ocean’s surface. Inspired by Makoko, a historic fishing settlement in Lagos, and by Shodeinde’s perception of water as a silent yet compelling force, the table invites contemplation.
Hundreds of hand-sculpted wood veneers are layered and fused to create a base that echoes the rippling motion of a wave in flux. Resting above, a smoked glass top features a subtle radial gradient, emphasizing the expanding movement of water when disturbed—transforming motion into a moment of stillness and form.
